Predictive programming, counted against coincidence

A film that resembles a later headline is an easy collage. Coordination is a much heavier claim.

Predictive programming, in the strong form filed here, says scripts are coordinated so that audiences will accept events that have already been planned. The weak form — writers and the public worry about the same things — is ordinary culture. The meter is about the strong form.

The evidence on X is almost always a collage assembled after the fact. A still sits beside a later headline. Hits are kept. Misses are not. The number of films released in a year makes some pairings inevitable, and a montage cannot show the ones it left on the floor.

Studios do chase the news, and they also lock scripts years before a release. That cuts both ways. A long production schedule makes a precise resemblance more interesting when it lands, and it makes a secret briefing harder to square with how slowly a film is actually written, financed, and cut. Neither observation proves a plan.

A dated draft matched to a non-public plan would change the file. A collage does not. The desk will keep saying what would count, because the lane will keep offering what does not.

Information on file

Desk notes are appended as the lane changes. They sit under the claim so a mark can follow the file, not the first draft.

  1. Desk note

    A new montage, no draft

This afternoon's posts pair one film with one headline and call it preparation. There is still no dated script, no distribution list, and no account of the films that resembled nothing.

  2. Desk note

Wrote the weak version down so it stays off the meter

Shared anxieties are not the claim. If the lane retreats to 'writers notice things,' this file should say so and the strong claim should lose its evidence. It has not retreated.
